IV. General Writing Guidelines

These are just general guidelines that must be followed for writing posts to the club, this is to ensure that everyone is following the same general style. So please keep the following rules in mind, because failure to follow said rules will results in warnings and after three warnings depending on the severity of the warning you will be removed from the list for a time that is decided upon by the BoD.

1. The is a PBeM (Play-By-Email) and this means that you send your completed story to the Mailing List (which you will be added to when you have your persona approved). You are not to leave posts hanging asking for other people to finish them - that is a _very_ big no-no. Posts which are written by two people or more are called co-posts or group-posts and they are explained in the next section.

2. All posts send to the list must be no shorter than 3K's long, and for Requirement posts they must be no shorter than 5K's long. Now if you are a marathon writer or your co-post just got way out of hand we ask that you split them up into parts and have them no longer that 10-15K's long.

3. All posts must have the following at the top:

Who: (The Persona's in the post)
What: (A Brief Explanation of what happened in the post)
Where: (Where the post takes place)
When: (Here you put the current RP month and day)
Mentioned: (Have you mentioned other people characters? if so put it in here)
NPCs: (Any Non-Playable-Characters used? But them in here)
Notes: (Anything else you want to add, co-post requests even)

4. In this club we have a specific way in which different forms of speech or thought are expressed, see the following:

" " Are used for normal human speech
}: :{ Are used for dragon speech, to one another or to their rider
** ** Are used for human thoughts or when a rider talks to their dragon
~~ ~~ Are used for when a firelizard is communicating by pictures or emotions

5. it is recommended that you check your post over for any spelling or grammar mistakes - I know you all might not have time and I am the worse one for not doing this at times - but they look a lot more "presentable" if you actually do check them over before sending them to the list.

6. All posts are to be written in Third Person also known as Past Tense - the only time that First Person or Present Tense may be used is in the speech of the characters.

7. At the end of each post you are required to include a signature of any writers which contributed to the post. Now you can get a little creative with this, but not overly so . . . please keep it in Normal Text format - do not send anything to the list in Rich Text format. But all signatures require the following:

Writers Name & E-mail
Persona's Name, Rank & their Location
Also you can have the Persona's pets or anything else

8. NO CHAIN LETTERS!!! You are not allowed to use the RP mailing list for chain letter purposes! If you send a chain letter within the RP you will get NO warnings, you will be kicked out right on the spot. This includes "virus warning" hoaxes and "cancer patient" letters. A chain letter, for those blessed few who have never seen one, is a letter that basically threatens bad luck or bad occurrences if one does not pass the letter on to a certain number of people in a certain amount of time.

9. To help you out there are some abbreviations that are used when describing certain locations - most people - 99.9% of people use the abbreviated form of the location in the "Where" part in the post and they are as follows:

ESWh - EvenStar Weyrhold
ESWh-HH - Harper Hall
ESH - EvenStar Hold
ESH-HH - Healer Hall
ESH-BH - Beastcraft Hall

10. There is a certain limit on what is and what isn't allowed to be sent to the list, so here is a list letting you know what you can get away with: When a new member join up they can send out a little "Hey I'm new here" sort of thing to let older members know they are around, Co-post requests can be sent to the list as well as a request for participations for flights, offering firelizard/watch wher eggs any e-mail change and a LOA/LIA notice.
