III. FAQ

Alright now for the Frequently Asked Questions, more will be added as they are asked, for now they are all just compiled into one section, but with time as more questions are asked then more specific FAQ sections will be made. 1.  What is EvenStar Weyrhold, and why would I want to join? Its a new PBeM (Play-By-Email) club where you get to create your own characters and play in the wonderful world of Pern with fellow readers and writers, it is new, and looking for members of all ages. If you are looking for a brand new club then this is the place to join!

2.  'Persona'? What's that? It is a character which you create and you RP (Role-Play) in our Alternative 9th Pass Pern.

3.  How many personas can I have? The current limit is 10, but that might change as more people join, when you first join upi may only have one persona while you are under Mentor Ship.

4.  What are NPC's? Non-Playable-Characters, they are usually attached to your PC (Playable-Character) and are "secondary" characters in your stories.

5.  What about pets? Pets are allowed, but there is a limit of 3 pets per persona.

6.  Can I be a dragonrider? Sure! Make sure that you read over the Dragonrider Guides before filling out the Join Form though!

7.  What about a Crafter? Sure! Make sure that you read over the Crafter Guides before filling out the Join Form though!

8.  Where will my persona live? In anyone of our fine locations of Dysis Isle. EvenStar Weyrhold, EvenStar Hold, Harper Hall, Healer Hall, Beastcraft Hall. It all depends on what their rank is.

9.  How do I get started? Reading as many of the pages that you can on here! Get to know the rules and you will be set!

10.  What if I go on vacation and can't access my email? Then you send out an LOA (Leave of Absence) notice to the club to let everyone know.

11.  How often do I have to post? Depends on your personas rank - check out the Rank Requirements in the Rules and Guidelines Section.

12.  Can I go between times? Not unless you have a good reason, if it is just for a picnic in a different time then forgot it, send your request to the BoD.

13.  Can I create my own Hold/Hall/Weyr? No I am afraid not, that will be up to the BoD and that will only happen when there are enough members to warrant a new location.

14.  Is there an age limit? All ages are welcome, just keep in mind that this club is rated PG-14.

15.  What is the view on Gay/Lesbian personas? They are completely accepted, and aren't often looked down upon in Pern.

16.  What do I write about? The daily interactions of your persona with other personas.

17.  What's a PBeM? Play-By-Email, the way this club is played.

18.  Can I have a Gold/Bronze dragon? Maybe, depends on the need for them - usually give out in contests.

19.  Can I have a Gold/Bronze fire lizard? Maybe, depends on the need for them - usually give out in contests.

20.  Why isn't it online? All Role-Play via the request of Anne McCaffrey must be done though e-mail.

21.  What is a flight? This is a word used to describe the mating between two dragons - better known as a Mating Flight.

22.  Can I have a wher? Yes you can, you persona will be a Wher Trainer, and will have to live within the Hold.

23.  Can I have a white dragon (or red, or, black, or silver or . . .) ? Nope sorry, only the five standard colors are allowed: Gold, Bronze, Brown, Blue and Green.

24.  Can my character Hear All Dragons [HAD]? Yes, but only on very rare occasions. You had better have a very original character, and prove to use that you deserve the character.

25.  Can my firelizard have a flight? and clutch? All female Firelizards will rise to mate, but only the Golds will clutch.

26.  Do I need permission for my own plots? Not if they are minor plots, if they are large scale and are going to affect more than your persona alone then you must make the request of the BoD.

27.  How can I adopt a persona? E-mail the BoD, or just simply by going through the Adoption Form.

28.  How do I get a Weyrleader, Healer, Harper, Headwoman, etc. to respond? Write a polite letter, and they will get back to you as soon as they are able.

29.  How does my character get Searched? You can write the owner of one of the Searchriders and request a Search.

30.  Is it okay to kill characters in plots? Yes it is, but all deaths must be approved by the BoD first.

31.  Is there anyway to guarantee a character will Impress a dragon? The only real way is to post, post and post some more! The more you post the more likely you will earn a Dragon.

32.  What if I break one of these rules? Will I be thrown off the list? No, but you will be warned, and 3 warnings results in expulsion from the club, sometimes it might just be a probation, depending on which rule(s) you broke.

33.  When do Weyrlings get their own weyrs? They are assigned their own Wings at the end of Month 3.

34.  When is my Weyrling allowed to have an "adult relationship"? A full fledged "adult relationship" can't take place until the Weyrling Graduates from Weyrling Training, up until that point their Dragon lifemates can't understand or deal with the sexual emotions.

35.  Is there a header format for posts? Depending on your location that your post takes place:
