IV. What Power Does the BoD Have?
When it
all comes down to it in most situations the BoD has the final say in matters.
And they are responsible for dealing out discipline as they see fit, often a
person will get no more than 3 warnings if they are doing something to disrupt
the club or are just not following Club Rules. The BoD also has the power over
the following things:
General
Club Issues:
~ Deciding to remove a member from the club
~ Sending out warnings
~ This distribution of Gold and Bronze Firelizards
~ The distribution of Rank among members
~ Final say in the clutch size and the color break down
~ Any death, be it human, Dragon or a Pet
~ Date approval of proposed events
Now often
times the stories written and sent to the club to not affect the other members
as a whole, but there are times when they do. Or maybe a post will be sent out
that will be completely non-Pern Canon, so below is a list of the different
storylines that should have the approval of the BoD:
What Needs
Approval:
~ Causing injury to a Dragon or PC
~ As stated above, any death
~ Any Unusual personas (Such as HAD’s or people with disabilities)
~ Large scale plots involving many members
~ The addition of a new NPC or pet to an already created persona – if you will
be using them often in your posts
~ Decision on if a Candidate will Impress or not
~ The distribution of Firelizard eggs when found/laid
~ Promotions within the Weyrhold, Halls or Hold
There are
also some things that do not require BoD approval and they are as follows:
What Does
Not Need Approval:
~ Personas getting married, pregnant, divorced or being Searched
~ The winners of Firelizard, Green Dragons and Jr. Gold Dragons
~ Relationships between personas
~ The death of an NPC
Aside from
deciding upon what can and cannot go on within the posts the BoD must also at
rare occasions step in and prevent people from ruining the Pern experience for
others. And maybe have to give out warnings; the limit is 3 warnings per person.
Reasons
For Warnings:
~ The failure to meet posting requirements for their personas
~ Any sending of chain letters or something that is not related to the club to
the lists
~ Using other peoples characters without permission
~ Being a disturbance to the club by being rude, not following Canon and abusing
